Cubs Win the World Series! Empty Cubs Win the World Series!

I'm not really much of a Cubs fan, and haven't even watched much baseball game in years. But I do sometimes pick up a Chicago radio station that carries games, and I'll very occasionally listen to a part of the game.

Still, it's something to think that America's favorite losers are not losers any more. Guess I can't help feeling a bit glad that they've finally done it.

Who were they up against? And by that I mean what Mascot. That's how I like to think of these things. As a complex mechanical simulation of combat between two mascots. Are the cubs bear cubs or wolf cubs? Bear, right? That's a pretty powerful animal, but maybe not so much when young. Still, it has enormous potential. But if I knew the other mascot we could determine if their victory was "realistic" or if the rules need to be modified for a more grounded combat simulation.

They beat the Cleveland Indians, whose mascot, Chief Wahoo, is a controversial subject.

would have been more excited if it had happened last year. Back to the Future 2 was one year off.

That was a really exciting series. I remember seeing Aroldis Chapman play for the AAA Louisville Bats when he was in Cincinatti's farm system.

I was very happy when the Kansas City Royals won the World Series last year. They hadn't won since 1985; weren't even in the playoffs again until 2014. Hey, speaking of Back to the Future (which came out in 1985)...

Cubs Win the World Series! Back-t11

But rather than be greedy for more titles, I chose to cheer for the Cubs to finally break their massive streak of never getting there. And lo and behold, they did it! My late grandmother would've been very happy.

So baseball has peaked for me. I guess my only course of action now is to follow the team who has the new longest World Series drought, which would be the Cleveland Indians.

BTW, the Royals' mascot is a lion with a crown on his head.

Now that's a mascot that should be cleaning up!
