    Geek goals Empty Geek goals

This year I'm going to try selling (or at least, raising awareness of) my books at a few local conventions. I did the first one a month or so ago, at which this happened:

The next one I'm thinking of attending has Paul McGann as one of the main guests of honour, so of course a plan is forming to get photos of as many Doctor Who stars as possible enjoying my books. The fact that I let Peter Davison keep the book ('Who's it to?' I asked as I signed it for him) is an incidental cost - I may never know if he actually reads it, but it was a good pic for my social media feeds!

So that's my new geek goal. Anyone else got any?

Nothing that can compare to having Doctors Who reading your book.

Steve Laube, who runs Enclave Publishing is coming to Australia for our Omega Writers Conference, so if I can make it there I might get to meet him.

Very cool! Is this a casual goal, or are you legitimately creating plans in your mind to make this happen with all living Doctor Who actors?

After playing Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night from start to finish recently I've developed an increasing interest in finishing a number of games I own.
As a kid, when I couldn't afford as many games, I finished games much more quickly, including ones that weren't the greatest. But as an adult, and as games have gotten bigger and longer, I've found it takes me longer to finish games, especially as new ones release that I also want to play. (Reviewing games doesn't help this at ALL.)

But I've made a short list of games that I'm more than halfway through that I would love to finish and gratifyingly "check off" my completion list. They include:

Shadow Hearts: From The New World (this game jolted me out of a recent gaming slump and I've been LOVING it again!)
Pillars Of Eternity (Finished it on PC, but played it again on PS4 and now I'm near the end again but THIS time playing through the big expansions I missed on PC. FUN!)
Far Cry: New Dawn (My idea of "finishing" this one likely won't involve finishing the campaign, but rather owning all possible weapons and completing most/all challenges)
No Man's Sky (The new "Beyond" Update is coming in August-ish, which I will play to check out the new stuff, and then finally make a bee-line to the center of the Galaxy to finish my game.)

Hoping to finish all these before The Bard's Tale 4 release on PS4 at the end of August!

If I can pull that off, I think that will motivate me to take on and finish other games I at least liked but haven't finished yet, like Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Lost Odyssey, Cosmic Star Heroine, Bastion, The Witcher 3 and Dragon Quest 11.

We'll see! Maybe any games I have mentioned that I don't complete I will put on my New Year's resolution list that doesn't and probably won't exist.

Well, I was going to say something deeply witty about not stalking him through space and time, but then this happened...

    Geek goals Colin10

and now I'm not sure it can still qualify as casual!

(And for the record, Colin Baker is actually a lot more friendly than the Sixth Doctor!)
