Now and then I write Coffee House questions for which I don't have an immediate answer for myself. This was one of them.
We're talking about a change of perspective, I think. If I'm going to respond out of gratitude, I have to spend more time thinking about what I'm blessed with that I take for granted. How do I do that? Sure, I can say "scripture and prayer" like a good little Christian, but how does that play out in my day to day?
A few months ago, and for the first (no wait, second) time in my life, I've started a scripture memory regiment, but one that is strategically geared toward where I need to grow and what I need to celebrate. I want to be "haunted" by the words of the Holy Spirit. If I can hear his words as often as my own, I think that may be what will bring about the change in perspective I want in this area.
