Re: Green Lantern Movie Costume
I really like it actually. I've never really been a green lantern fan until recently but that's how I would imagine the costume. Not spandex, not material, but coming from the ring itself... Wish I could wear something like that

I plan on talking about this some on my ComiCon podcast next weekend, but for now I'll say that I'm about as hardcore a GL fan as they come, and I dig it.

As someone who doesn't like CGI effects, are you approaching the movie with trepidation, Paeter? I imaging the ring-effects will be heavily CGI-ed.

Re: Green Lantern Movie Costume
I imagine the ring effects wont come off so bad even if they look fake cause...they are just energy creations. The crutial thing is making them look like they fit in the world and have an effect on the world which would have a lot to do with the acting.
I'm just stoked to see Kilowogg. He's my favorite green lantern ever! I'm also interested to see how they will show the variations of each GL's suits. Since the suit is created by the ring, it should be affected by there personality. I think thats how it is in the comics. How is Hal's suit going to differ from Kilowog or Salaak's or Tomar-Re, Arisa or Boodikka. Also really stoked to see if they put Mogo in...they have to have Mogo, right?

I should clarify. I don't like CGI when it's trying to fool me into thinking there is real-world matter present. Especially biological matter. So people, creatures, objects, stuff like that. Machines are easier to fake because their movement can afford to look "artifical".
I think CGI is currently put to best use when it is creating "energy" effects. So the ring creations aren't in danger of bothering me. I'll answer your question about CGI and the suit on this weekend's podcast.
