As requested elsewhere on these forums, here's a quick overview of my newly installed retro computer bookcase. Ideally I'd like to have them less crammed together and better displayed, but I have other collections taking over other parts of the house, so I have to take what space I can find...

At least now they're out of boxes and (with a couple of non-working exceptions) ready for some retro gaming fun Smile

I guess which of these you recognise will depend on your age and country of origin, but just for fun, how many do you know?

    Very cool.

Sadly, I don't recognise much here, other than the obvious Playstation logo, and the old PC keyboard.
One of those, third up from the bottom, on the left, looks a little like a Commodore 64, but it doesn't have gray keys down the right hand side.

Makes me kinda wish we still had our old family Microbee (which was our first computer)

Yup, my retro knowledge apparently ends with the Playstation.

Such a good console. I miss it and the games I used to play on it.
Panzer General, FF Tactics, Warhammer Shadow of the Horned Rat... good times

Let's see, looks like you've got a "Sinclair ZX Spectrum" and uuuuh... a Playstation... aaaaaand, some other buttons...

What's that gamepad at the bottom for? A PC?

Yeah, I figured the PlayStation would be the universal constant! Smile

I thought someone would recognise the old girl at the bottom though (although she is slightly obscured in the group photo).

    Ah.
I did play on an Amiga once, while visiting a family friend. I believe I played Battle Chess on it. So mindbowing, to hear digitised sounds in a day before PCs were still emitting beeps from the PC speaker.

And I remember the name Amstrad, though I don't think I ever saw one.

Sweet! Was the amiga pre-NES? That gamepad looks surprisingly modern in design!

The Amiga 1200 (which I have) was made 1992-96 - it was well ahead of the game as a home computer as well as being a great games machine, and I wrote at least one early novel on mine as well as other productive computer stuff until work and studies forced me to get a Windoze box in the early 2000s.

As I recall, I bought the gamepad along with the Euro 96 version of Sensible Soccer, which is still one of my favourite Amiga games Smile
