    the Expanse Empty the Expanse

Am I super late to the party?
Why is no one talking about this show?
    Or the books.

I'll admit that it started kind of slow, but halfway through the second season, I found myself unable to look away from the screen. I even passed up my "dailies" on World of Tanks, which is my I do this every day relaxation routine.

Decent special effects, intriguing story line, good acting, compelling characters... I can only imagine that this show is old hat and I'm years late to the conversation, but I can't find where everyone is gushing over it.

It's on my list to try again...again. As you mentioned, it felt a bit too slow for me. I made it twice through the first ep and once through ep. 2. But it has such a passionate following that I really want to try and let it hook me.

I've enjoyed the books so far. I like the mix of hard science fiction for the humans, and all out space opera for the <--Spoilers?-->

I watched the first two seasons when it was on Netflix. Seeing it all play out on screen actually helped me to connect with the books a little more as I now had faces to put to the characters.
(I've been listening to the books on audio which can sometimes strain my pitiful mental powers of focus)

Ironically, by Saving the show, Jeff Bezos actually took away my ability to watch it. Netflix lost the international rights to the show as it was becoming an Amazon Original.
However, I will be shortly signing up to Amazon Prime in preparation for Star Trek Picard, and am very much looking forward to catching up on seasons 3 and 4 of The Expanse.

I finished season three this weekend. I've been a fan since it was on SyFy and I'm looking forward to season four.

I'm getting Prime Video free for the foreseeable future because I'm headed into a phase in life where I'll have a child in college for the next 10-12 years.

How's that work? Not sure the connection, but it sounds awesome.

    Nice.
That's actually a good marketing tactic. Get them used to your platform and services. I'm sure a lot continue on after they graduate.
