Growing up on Superman: The Animated Series, I'm used to Lex Luthor looking like this:
Or in the comics, like this:
And I always default to Clancy Brown's deep, intimidating voice when I read Luthor in the comics.
Recently, I've been watching clips from the CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover thing on YouTube, and I've noticed that I have trouble accepting Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor.
I think it's his beard. And his height. And maybe his voice. And ears.
This nit-picking is all standard fare when I encounter a new actor or actress playing a familiar character.
AND YET...
I seem to be totally fine with this:
Perhaps because he transitions into this:
(Though his voice never changes.)
All this to say...I don't know what my deal is.
