Amazing Spider-Man Villain Empty Amazing Spider-Man Villain

    Post  DNArington April 20th 2013, 10:42 pm

The first look at Jamie Foxx as Electro in the upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man was revealed last week and here it is:
    Amazing Spider-Man Villain Tasm2-electro1

Honestly I think it looks terrible, but I assume there will be some after effects in post, so I will reserve judgement till I see an official photo or trailer.

It appears they are going for this version of Electro:
    Amazing Spider-Man Villain Ultimate-Electro

    instead of the classic:
    Amazing Spider-Man Villain 1103383-electro01

Personally I would have preferred the classic version of the character (with a few modifications to the look of course), but I am willing to give this it's shot.

This wouldn't have been a bad choice either(though I still prefer the original):

I don't know the character or his story, but if he's more interesting than the Lizard, I'll be pleased.

I'd prefer classic, personally. It's more important what the actor and script do with him. I did watch Django Unchained last night and really liked Jamie Foxx in that.

    Completely agree.

I thought the Lizard was adapted to the movie very well, though I have a feeling there were some of his scenes that were cut that would have fleshed out his character a bit more (there is only one or two in the deleted scenes on the DVD if my memory serves me correctly.) I'm sure there was also more of Peter finding out about his parents, but that story thread seemed very much cut down in the movie.

I like electricity as VFX, so I think I'll be happy. But yeah, some digital effect to lay over that make-up would probably be an improvement.

And here he is when he is normal:
    Amazing Spider-Man Villain TASM-2-Jamie-Foxx4

Kinda' weird. Kinda' like it, but kinda' don't. I'll have to wait and see what he does with the character.

    Also here is Harry Osborne:

I think Dane Dehaan is an inspired choice for Harry.

Here is an official image of Electro:

I like that it looks like you can see electricity inside his head, rather than just on the surface. I'm guessing there will be a trailer or teaser at the upcoming comic-con.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I REALLY like what they're doing with this. They did a great job of grounding this new series compared to the campiness of Raimi's take, and I think this falls in with the design philosophy they've been going with. I love it...

If they had Foxx in some yellow and green spandex suit, I don't even think I'd bother going to see it...

This is interesting. It looks like he has some kind of gauge or power switch or something on the side of his head. This lends to my thought that he was intentionally created, and it wasn't just a freak accident.

Or maybe he just fell asleep on a keyboard and something came loose?
