Nice art! I always pictured Merikk as being rather scruffier and less athletic myself (probably heavily influenced by the memories of the music tech guys I knew in college), but I still really like your work.

Yeah, my first instinct was to make him look heavier and more drabbly dressed but I went for coolness over reality...

Thanks for the compliment though...I really wish we could have more Spirit Blade Fanart. I have a lot of ideas but almost no skill in the digital realm.

I'm sorry but I think Merrick has a vague resemblence to Neo in my mind.

Especially in Dark Ritual when he kicks demon butt... Reminds me of the burly brawl fromt he matrix and just sent chills down my spine while listening.

I don't know... then he might have gotten black oily Smith-essence all over everything and made even more Smiths. Kind of like fighting the hydra, where the last thing you want to do is decapitate it, unless if you're ready to cauterize the neck immediately thereafter.

So, maybe a scythe with a torch tied to the butt end?
