Anyone Play Hearthstone?

Been hearing great things about this game. It has a pay model but it's also free to play. I'm specifically curious how playable it is without spending any money? Any thoughts?

I've played a little bit on it and haven't spent a dime. I can't really speak to how limited it is being free vs. pay because I haven't really jumped in to the game so haven't really pushed to find the limitations.

I've played through the training missions to unlock all the classes, but have not done any head-to-head matches yet. I guess that will be what I move into next, though.

Is there any kind of single player experience beyond the training missions or is it strictly PvP after that?

There are two levels of practicing (which is the solo game): normal and expert. You have to beat each class in order to unlock it. Once the class is unlocked, you can practice with the class until you have reached level 10 and unlocked all of the basic cards.

All of the other games modes seem to be PvP. There is "Arena" mode which is a draft format; and there are two "Play" modes, which are built decks format: Casual and Ranked. (Sorry if my terminology is off; I'm not really in on the Magic or tournament scene.)

Bummer. I've heard that after the beta there will be a single player campaign of sorts. Must either still be in beta or I'm mistaken about the rumor.

I just asked a guy who knows more about the game than me (not saying a whole lot) and he says that they are working on a single-player campaign, but it is not out yet.

I'm bumping this. I play now. I haven't put any money into it yet and I'm doing alright. There are some solo adventures but you'll need to manage your gold in order to unlock them because the game is really stingy when it comes to rewards.

That being said, I'm looking for fellow players to add to my "Friends". PM me for my acct.

Any chance you are playing Heroes also John?

I haven't played it much, but my son really likes it. Him and his friends from schoool play each other alot. I've yet to give him any money for upgrades and he seems happy so far!
