GMing For Young Players

Anyone ever run a paper and pencil RPG for younger players, and if so, what were their ages and how did it go?

I'm doing some prep now to run some D&D for my boys (8 and 5) and already know I'll be SUUUUper simplifying. Still geeking out about it, though!
