Drone Racing League

I saw a bit of this a few weeks ago on a restaurant TV.

It looks like they got a good look for this kind of thing, with the dim warehouse type of setting with the neon or fluorescent lights, it gives it a kind of video game look, or maybe similar to something like Tron. The people flying the drones wear these helmets that I'd guess give them the same view as the camera in these video clips.

I haven't flown drones myself, but I have enjoyed what little I've seen of this competition.

That's cool! Reminds me of those robot fighting shows they used to have on Spike TV and the like, but I think this might actually be interesting to watch.

Here's another take on drone racing. It looks like they have one long race, not a set of short races. Plus, it's outdoors, so I'd guess the weather could play a part, though it looks pretty calm in this video. It's interesting that they have to think about "pit stops", where they need to stop and change the batteries on the drones.
