I've just learned something exciting.
As reported by Trek.Report, the recent Star Trek Deep Space Nine documentary "What we Left Behind" is streaming free on TUBI. (And it's not geo-locked so it can be watched around the globe)
This is an exciting program because it's not just a bunch of talking heads, they actually got the writer's room back together (including Ronald D. Moore of BSG fame) to break a mythical 8th season of the show set 20 years later in real time. They even show some of this partially animated in kinda storyboard form.
We recently learned that Moore was inspired by his time on DS9 to create a more realistic grittier type of show which became Battlestar Galactica. DS9 still had plenty of holdovers of the old style of TV (especially in the first few seasons) but like it's contemporary, Babylon 5, it also pushed forward the idea of serialised character driven sci-fi (within a studio culture that tried to hold them back from it)
You can check out this documentary at

I don't know how long it will be up there free, but it cold be a good beginning, or at lease prelude, to the summer of free.
