Re: Atari's new console
Oh my gosh. Went to website. $399.
You can get the upcoming Xbox Series S for $100 less, and the digital-only PS5 for the same price.
What are they thinking with that price point? What "modern games" will it REALLY play?
As you said, "interesting", but I'm puzzled trying to see the value.

Re: Atari's new console
I get the impression it's bascially a modern gaming PC that fits on your TV cabinet, and happpens to come pre-loaded with all the old Atari classics.
So I guess it can play whatever PC games are supported on Linux.
Not sure it's the serious contender to PS5 and XBox that Atari seem to think it is, though.

It has a "PC Mode". You can run Windows, Linux, or Chrome on it.
It also has a game creation mode where you can design your own games.

Interesting! If they can make that game creation tool fun and easy for casuals I can see that being a nice selling point.
