Our new episode is UP and LIVE! Strangers and Aliens episode 13 takes on superhero movies in the form of a "contest" between Marvel and DC to see who has the best movies based on their characters.

Of course, this just serves as an excuse to talk about superhero movies for a while, and we cover as many as we can, from Howard the Duck to The Dark Knight! From Captain America to Captain America!

Sorry, Paeter, Green Lantern gets beat up pretty bad . . .

I'm sure you won't agree with many of our choices (like Green Lantern, for Paeter) as we talk about best sequel, worst stinker, most anticipated, and worst missed opportunity, etc. -- so please, tell us about it!

Next up: Hunger Games, and then Kirk vs. Picard!

Well, in broad strokes I'd actually agree that Marvel has the "best movies based on their characters". A shame, since by far DC has the "best characters with movies based on them"! Wink

I don't want to give too much away, as far as the "results" of the "battle", but our conversation did include some pretty strong contenders from each side -- the first two Supermans and the Nolan Batmans gave DC a nice boost.

Sadly, we didn't eve get into Steel . . . or Elektra . . . or Catwoman. The conversation could;d have been twice as long!

Or the direct to video Captain America, the Roger Corman Fantastic Four, the Dolph Lundgren "Punisher"... boy, you could have a completely different show about "superhero movies we try to convince ourselves never existed".

We did talk a bit about '90's Captain America, but we had no time for Corman FF or any of the Punishers.

Boy, there are a lot of stinkers, aren't there?
