What the Ogre?????

Um ok, so I'm a noob but what the heck is Ogre and why one earth are they getting paid $500k to make it? And why do I never think up any great ideas like this???

I'm sorry but this came out like greek to me? Can anyone explain it in laymans terms? What are GEV maps and counters?

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

As I recall, Ogre was an rpg/board game from Steve Jackson Games in the 1980's similar to its Car Wars game. It was similar to MechWarrior, in that players had large, highly-sophisticated battle tanks that fought against each other. These tanks were actually classified as GEV, or Ground Effects Vehicles.

Beyond that, I'm afraid I can't help much as I never played it.

Thanks guys! Guess I'll have to google some! Seemed odd that something that didn't seem really common got over $650k from kickstarter when they only asked for $20k!! Made me feel like I was missing out on something I might wanna get ahold of!! Thx for the info!
