I really enjoyed Paeter;s thoughts on faith in the podcast from the 11th. i especially liked the correlation between faith and trust. I listened to it yesterday while driving home.
All too often I hear people define faith as being "believing in something that cannot be seen." And that's true, to a point. Especially in light of the verse from Hebrews: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." But note that's it's not just the "blind faith" that Peater warned against. There is the implication of trust -- confidence and assurance in someone (in this case, God).
Anyway, thanks, Paeter!
The coolest thing? It helped clear some of my own thoughts for the direction to take my Sunday School lesson this Sunday.
