    Twilight Rocks! Empty Twilight Rocks!

    Post  Paeter October 7th 2013, 11:49 am

How did I miss this series of fantastic movies? Holy crap these are great! I haven't read the books, which I'm told are very good. But crap these movies are awesome! I've only seen the first two so far, but I know I'll have to see all of them now.

Let me tell you, it takes an unusual comedy to make me truly laugh out loud but these guys are hilarious! Every awkward, clumsy performance, the "story" and dialogue, nothing is spared. I think those three guys should be in every movie.

Oh, wait. Did I forget to mention that I was watching these movies with the Rifftrax commentary playing?

    Yeah. Awesome.

    ...Line? Wink

Rifftrax makes those awful films not just endurable, but hilarious.  I was finagled into watching #4 un-riffed with my sister-in-law, and it was rough... partly because of the ridiculous plot and awful characters themselves, but more because I kept having to restrain myself from doing my own riffing!

Enjoy the rest, Paeter.  The movies get worse and worse, but the riffs get better and better.

Just watched "Eclipse" with the RiffTrax last night and it was great! I've been watching all of these with my sister, who currently lives in Rwanda and is only in town for a little while. We plan to finish of the series next week before they leave. I think it will be the definitive memory of their time here.

On a side note, I also realized that although I've listened to the tracks for The Matrix and "Reloaded", I haven't listebed to the one for "Revolutions" yet! This oversight must be fixed immediately! In fact, this also just gave me an idea for another thread. (Exit, stage left. "Woosh!")

Holy crap, we just watched the last one two nights ago. Michael Sheen's excited "laugh" when he sees the hybrid girl, and the Riffers reaction("no comment in the world could make that more funny than it already is, folks!"), was the funniest freakin' part of the night. I don't know how that didn't hit the cutting room floor. Did even serious Twilight fans not erupt in laughter at how terrible and out of wack that was? Crazy. GREAT Rifftrax though!

Spoony, another internet reviewer I enjoy, said that when he went, he and his date both laughed insanely (I believe he literally fell out of his seat), but that most of the fans were quite serious and into the moment. They booed when the Volturi showed up, like they're true villains. Seriously, you might as well have Crow and Servo mounted next to the Volturi for how seriously they can be taken.
And let's not forget the "twist" at the end of the battle. It's Bobby Ewing for a new generation!
