Did you leave out all Joss Whedon stuff? I don't remember hearing Firefly, Serenity, or Buffy. Kinda surprised at least with the Firefly stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Buffy weren't too campy for you, Paeter.

Alas, although it predates and no doubt inspired some of my beloved, I only watched Firefly AFTER my exposure to Farscape. It was destined to be forgettable by comparison...
(ooh, I'm gonna get crap for that, huh?)

Oh, I'm pretty much a "to each his own" kind of guy, but I have to admit that I was talking to podcast something along the lines of "you picked *that* but left out *this*??"

Yep. 300 sounds like a lot, but it's not when you include all the categories I did. In the end I really did have to cut some things out that I enjoyed. Even things I still have and enjoy in my personal collection of geek entertainment.

I agree, it was a fun list...but...The Shadow? Really? That movie has so much potential, but failed on almost every level for me. But as WhiteBoy said, to each his own.

I LOVED it! Dark humor and atmosphere, yet also new how to have fun with some great tongue in cheek humor.
Can't wait for the blu ray! FINALLY I get to see it in widescreen again!

Okay, for live-action TV, you left out MAX HEADROOM (but you are not alone, sigh. Some days I think I am the singualr voice crying out in the wilderness...).
For tabletop gaming I'm gonna guess you were never exposed to Car Wars from Steve Jackson Games. Back in the day, it was a miniature war game slammed up against a highly-developed SF dystopian setting with a some extremely simple role-play elements thrown in. The world building stuff alone was worth the price!

Is there somewhere I can legally try Max Hedroom for free?
And nope, never played Car Wars. Sounds cool, though!

Re: Paeter's top 300
I can't vouch for their legality or quality, but there is some Max Headroom episodes on Youtube that has some of the episodes.
Here is the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRQvFxbhjQY
I would follow it up with the third episode aired, but the second shot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pioHSxyZaoU
This one is later in the season, but I've always liked it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUkTbSMTwmk
And if you can find the episode titled "Dream Thieves" it's pretty good as well.
I would loan you my discs, but they're all out at the moment.

I listened to you're list again and yes, you did say Batman The Animated Series. I must have missed it the first time.

Easy to do! I was going at close to light speed to cram all that in there!
