What The Crap Is This Movie/Show In My Head???

A vague memory of a movie/show popped into my head and I can't place it.

A character (female, I think) is denied the opportunity for direct revenge on someone. But when that someone meets their (gruesome?) end they insist on watching it happen, I think saying something like "I need to see this".

I'm pretty sure it's geek-genre (I mean, with my tastes the odds are high, anyway) but I can't fill in any more details to help me place this memory.

Can anyone think of what story this is from?

Update: It was Batman Begins, when Bruce wanted to shoot Chill but didn't get the chance. I guess Christian Bale is just so pretty that I tend to remember him as a woman.
