Consciousness... consciousness is on my brain

I'm sitting at my computer, now 15 minutes before I normally wake up, because I woke up nearly two hours ago and couldn't get back to sleep.

Lame.

So I've been doing some work now in order to justify that random nap on the floor of my office that will surely hit this afternoon.

Ugh.
Does this sound familiar?
I'm half awake, and I really need to pee, but if I get up, I'll wake up, and I have 45 minutes left to sleep and I wont be able to get back to sleep if I get up, surely I can make it 45 minutes without wetting myself, I mean I just spent ...let's see, it was 11:45 when I ... six hours? really? Even if I fell back to sleep now I'd only get six and a half hours of sleep? What's that noise? Is someone else going into the bathroom? COME ON! Who is up at this time of day? Now even if I wanted to go, I'll have to wait, and I'm still not sleeping. And now, I really, really need to go, so I'm missing out on sleep and peeing. I should have just gotten up when I woke up and I'd only be awake, not awake and uncomfortable. Oh, now what? Is that knocking? Yes it is, now my other kid is up and waiting in line for the bathroom, and I am even further from relief.

"Nothing, dear, go back to sleep." Look at that smug, sleeping face... I should flick her ear or something.

15 minutes? 45 minutes? I sometimes wake up hours early and can't get back to sleep.

Ooh, that's the worst.

I'm here and at it again this morning, but not as early as yesterday.

I did end up falling into a 45 minute coma on my office floor yesterday, which I will probably do again today after I get everything uploaded for the end of week content.

But this morning is probably my fault. The in-laws just arrived in town and we always buy more junk food when they visit. So I was loaded up on Pepsi and ice-cream sugar/caffeine.

Hmmm. Pepsi. That could help me out today.

And the cycle begins anew.
