I'm probably shouting into the void here, but has anyone seen Blake's 7?
It was a BBC sci-fi series written by Terry Nation (creator of the Daleks) that ran from 1978-81, and apart from an early 80s re-run has been largely overlooked since. Which is a shame, because I recently picked up a DVD box set and I'd either forgotten, or didn't appreciate at the time, how good it actually is. It's sort of like 1984 re-imagined as a space opera, or Firefly with Classic Who-style aesthetics.
Also, one of the episodes has Brian Blessed as the self-appointed 'one true God', which is kind of fun unless somebody points out that he's not God, he's just Grampy Rabbit on a power trip.
*sigh* we really need some more British geeks here to know what I'm blithering on about...
