Higher Power Trailer

Stumbled on this browsing Redbox upcoming releases and crap! Looks like I'm going to have to squeeze in an extra review, cuz this looks great!
Obviously not a big budget movie, but it looks like they are doing good work with what they've got and have some big ambitions!

I also love this casting choice. This actor is not a household name. I don't even remember his name at all. But I've seen him in supporting film roles and TV guest star roles and he plays "vulnerable" really well. I also love that this is a story about a guy gaining super powers that isn't in the best physical shape. He's just a normal guy. Love it.

Now I just hope the script lives up to the rest of what I'm seeing.

Wow. That looks pretty intense.
Will keep an eye out for it.

If you can stream international content this one might be on the Redbox streaming service. Otherwise you could try amazon or Netflix when it comes out. They might get it, too.

I didn't know they had a streaming service...

...and I just looked it up, and it seems on demand streaming costs $4.99 for SD, $5.99 for HD. That's a lot more than the $1.75 renting the DVD costs. I don't make American dollars, so $4.99 (about ¥34 RMB) is kind of a lot to pay to watch a movie one time. I'm better off waiting for Netflix or one of the Chinese streaming services to pick it up (I can rent on demand for ¥5 or ¥10 RMB without subscribing).
