I'm a film major so natually I'm curious if anyone has ever thought about doing a video version of any alliance project?

Re: Video Projects
That would be awesome, but seeing as how we are spread out all over the place it might prove difficult. If we could overcome that obstacle, I'd love to see it fly.

Do you mean animation or live action?

Well I was naturally thinking of live action because that's what I want to focus on as a career but animation might be the better choice

Re: Video Projects
Rickster,
Where are you located? I think a video project is possible, but only if you have people near you to collaborate. I'd be game (I live in the Los Angeles area).
I think you'd need to find a story that wouldn't require special effects but has an element of sci-fi in it (ala twilight zone episodes).

Re: Video Projects
Awesome. I could offer writing and minor acting . . . but I know several small-time actors, videographers and people who'd be interested in doing a shoot.

Re: Video Projects
My wife in in this group Lifelines.
They've done several productions (I was 3rd shepherd in Nativity, and stoker of the furnace in Daniel).
It's possible, but it all had to be in modern dress, and sets are difficult to organise.
Trouble is I don't know about the costs of decent animation nowadays.

Always. In a contemporary setting I currently have a script already written for a stageplay that takes place in a diner where a mysterious man offers a young man a deal to take a day from the young man's life in exchange for a year added to another person's life.
I think there's plenty of contemporary speculative fiction stories that can be told with a minimal amount of special effects, costuming, and set-scouting.

Re: Video Projects
I've also been working on an idea for a series of five minute episodes for a short series involving teen/young adult angst a ghost and spiritual deception.

This sounds cool, guys! Not sure what I can contribute to the process, but I'm definitely in support of it! Let me know how I can help!

There's a free 3D animation program called Blender and some of the videos that have been made with it look really good
Heres the website

Well I think the first time out of the barn it would be good to do a short one-shot deal, so I'm thinking the diner/day off your life script (the location could be changed). I could send you the script for the stageplay . . . and we could go from there.
