    I got two emails claiming to be the Better Business Bureau, saying that a customer reported a complaint because of their dealing with Spirit Blade Productions.

    Probably a virus scam. The included links (which I didn't click on) had fishy URLs, and I think most of my customer base would get in touch with me before the BBB if they had a problem.

    Even so, this kinda stuff keeps me up at night. I HATE unresolved conflict and really hope this is a scam.

    Basically there's a scam going around:

    Sample email:

    From: BBB [mailto:alerts@bbb.org]
    Subject: BBB important information



    Hello,

    Here with the Better Business Bureau would like to inform you that we have been sent a complaint (ID 05038834) from a customer of yours in regard to their dealership with you.

    Please open the COMPLAINT REPORT (link to malicious web site was removed) below to obtain more information on this case and let us know of your position as soon as possible.



    We are looking forward to hearing from you.

    Also, I saw no listing for the BBB on their website which means Spirit Blade isn't on their radar.

    You can relax. I got a couple of these some time ago in my default 'spam-catcher' address. The funny thing is, there is NO REASON for the BBB to receive a complaint against me, as I have NEVER offered any business or service. Ever.

    So I'm fairly sure you're safe.

    Nathan, that sample e-mail was IDENTICAL to the one I got, so thank you for posting it. It set me at ease.

    It's really psychologically a great tactic. Guys like me who REALLY care about customer relations will be VERY tempted to click on that link to start resolving the "problem".
