My Yahoo and Feed URLs Empty My Yahoo and Feed URLs

    Post  Paeter May 10th 2012, 9:55 pm

I need a web-smart person to help out my web-dumb brain.

Anyone know how to stop the My Yahoo page from appearing when you click on or enter a site's feed url? It used to be I would go to a feed page, but these days I'm taken to a My Yahoo page and asked if I want to add the feed to my My Yahoo page or some such crap. How do I make My Yahoo go away and leave me alone? I'm not even signed into Yahoo when this happens. Is Yahoo taking over the internet?

    Any thoughts?

What browser are you using? It sounds like you loaded a Yahoo toolbar or something that took over as a feed reader. I use Firefox so if that's your browser, go to Options | Options | Applications and scroll down to stuff like Podcast, Video Podcast, and Web Feed. Mine is set to "Preview in Firefox," but my guess is that yours says something about Yahoo in it. Change it back to "Preview in Firefox" and try the link again. I doubt it, but it's possible you may have to close out of Firefox and get back in before the change takes effect.
