THE PODCASTERS INITIATIVE

This week marks the first (but NOT last!) Christian Geek Podcasters Initiative Theme Week! Each podcast will take on the theme in their own unique way!

This time around the theme is SUPERHEROES!!!

What is that? Well, podcasters are teaming up to help listeners find other podcasts they may like!

I'll be posting the episodes that have to do with theme week below as they are released this week!

I'm very excited to have these other podcasters take part in the theme week as we try to help grow each others' listener base and introduce new listeners to podcasts they may have never heard of, but that they would enjoy adding to their listening queue!

GAMESTORE PROPHETS

A podcast that talks about geek stuff and spirituality, with an emphasis on tabletop and video gaming, posted their episode entitled "SUPER HEROES"!!!

Mike Perna and Luke Navarro discuss their two categories of superheroes, what they like about them, and why being a Christian is a little bit like being a Green Lantern...

THE SCI-FI CHRISTIAN

Many of you have probably heard of this podcast. In this episode, Matt Anderson and Ben DeBono talk about superheroes and killing.

STRANGERS AND ALIENS

Possibly the weakest tie to the "superhero" theme (although, that will be rectified with the NEXT two episodes of Strangers and Aliens when the tie-in is much more obvious), in this episode Ben Avery, Dr. Jayce O'Neal, Stephen MacDonald and special guest host Koby Radcliffe talk about a character that is a villain turned hero, THE TERMINATOR!

GEEK THIS PODCAST

Geek This! is probably the newest podcast in the podcasters initiative. Hosted by two Davids, David Clements and David Hunt, Geek This! covers a lot of topics for living geeky. This is also the only podcast in the initiative (right now) that is hosted by a Christian, but not presented as a Christian podcast. David Clements is not shy talking about his faith when it comes up, but that's not the main subject.

The Davids bring a fun, fresh look at their favorite things that they are "geeking on". For their superhero themed episode, they talk about the Amalgam universe and why some readers have publisher brand loyalty, being fans or Marvel OR DC.

GEEKUALLY YOKED

This podcast by married hosts, Rachel and Leeman, is a very fun podcast to listen to. It's obvious they love ech other, love their fandom, and love God (NOT in that order!). For their look at superheroes, they chose to use the Iron Man 3 movie as a springboard into some very interesting discussion about superheroes in general.
