I'm not a Tolkien scholar, but this is looking pretty good to me. I'm not familiar with the time period in which this story is set so I have very little preconceptions to be disappointed about. But I'm seeing the promise of what I come to Lord of The Rings for. Epic journeying to cool-looking fantasy locations with dangerous creatures and big stakes. I'm REALLY curious about the meteorite.
I get the impression that this show is supposed to be in canon with the Peter Jackson movies, and the visual aesthetic seems to support that, so that's pretty cool.
I'll definitely be checking it out and I suspect I'll enjoy it.
