Well, what do you know? I think I'm actually interested. I mean, I'll wait until I can read a review or two, because I'll be surprised if the Supergirl that shows up doesn't turn out to be gay or a hardcore feminist or something. But if that mumbo jumbo is toned down, I might actually get excited for this. Even if it's just to see Batfleck and 1989 Batman again.

I can't believe I forgot to post this here! Thanks, Reed!
Yeah, this is the first time I've felt hyped for a movie in a long time. (Actually, D&D was the last one maybe, but before that it's been years.) So I'm trying to keep that in check, but it looks like it might really have the potential to hit the core elements of epic bar-raising spectacle and grounded drama that I so appreciate in superhero movies.

Oh, and I forgot to mention…the moment that I really felt excited about the whole thing was when I saw Michael Shannon show up in the trailer. I remember not being very pleased with his performance as Zod in Man of Steel the first time I saw it (in a theater in China), but ever since then, I've loved it. Plus, I've seen how good of an actor he is in other movies.
I was disappointed when I'd heard that he'd disliked the role and lashed out at superhero movies, but it seems now that that rumor was overblown. So I'm very happy to see him back.

Wow, that's news to me! If he didn't like it than he sure didn't seem to let that damage his performance. I really appreciate his Zod and was also really happy and surprised to see him back! And the idea of a Zod invasion with no Kal-el on earth to stop him is really interesting! My guess is that when history is "restored", Kal-el will not be. At least not arriving at the same time he did before, which will allow them to keep much of the DCU but still reboot Superman.

Oh, yeah, good point. That makes sense as a way to retcon Henry Cavill out.

Okay, I'm intrigued. It looks like it's going to be a very different take on the Flashpoint story.

Yeah, but seemingly keeping the all-important heart of it as a story about a guy who just wants to save his mom. That's heavy stuff, so I hope they serve it well. The trailer, I think, gives me reason to hope.
