Small Bible Promo

I just had this nutty idea of dramatizing small scenes in the bible....

Like for instance when that lady drives a tent stake through that guys head...

We could do it all dramatic like and then at the end say something like READ YOUR BIBLE

It would just me a minute promo... almost like a commercial... I think it would be kinda fun/cool/easy to do.

What do you guys think?

Exactly what I was thinking! Just some little filler you can throw in somewhere... or other people could throw in somewhere on other podcasts

What are you thinking? Voice acted scenes or Narrated Scenes or just reading of actual verses?

Voice acted scenes... no narration if possible... Maybe somebody reading the verse at the beginning... and then we switch into this highly dramatic re-enactment of what is being read... and then switch back to some average Joe reading.

The narration part is just a personal reservation I have... I like to do things Dirk Maggs style if I can

s'fine with me...although i have no idea of who Dirk Mags is.

Do you have any particular scenes in mind other than the Deborah/Judges/Stake-thru-the-head scene?

Yeah... the one were that guy stabbed the king with the knife...

I think we should also do some more sentimental scenes... besides just uberviolent

Yes this sounds great, a cool seen we could do is when God writes on the wall in the middle of the fest. It would be cool with sounds effects and dramatic reading.

Where's the organizational charter?
Who's doing what?

Okay, I'll start.
One of the most evocative scenes in the Bible for me is the initiation of King Solomon. I'll have a script by the end of the week, but I need voices:

King Solomon
Metatron
Guards/Officials (no more than three)
Mother of Baby
Mother of Dead Baby

I've got a great idea for scoring and FX, so I guess I'll mix it myself.
We'll need a place to host the files for download. I'm willing to host or mirror over at Critical Press Media. Paeter, can this be part of the Underground Alliance? Or just a forum thing?

And if anybody else has any ideas I'm more than willing to mix!

Paeter will probably host it at archive.org like he does our other projects.

As for organization, that's Hackmodford's choice, since this is his idea.

I'd be happy to organize/coordinate the effort under the SBUA banner and shift this thread to that forum as we continue. Or this can just be your thing and you guys make it happen, using this existing thread or whatever outside means you'd like.

Either way, if I dig it I'll still be happy to play it on the podcast even if it's independent of the SBUA.

If it's an SBUA project, I'll be happy to post auditions and make some noise, as well as coordinate communication between those involved and plug the appropriate people into specific roles. I'd reserve the right for veto power in everything to aim for the best quality we can pool together, but I'm relatively hands off in that regard and just want to support the creativity of those involved.
