    Critical Press Media publishes two anthologies annually, whose proceeds benefit charity. Benefit Projects are traditionally compiled by amateur writers and writing enthusiasts (which means it pays in warm fuzzies and a bookshelf copy for the writer), but all manuscripts are welcome. Submissions are themed according to the project. Previously published works are acceptable. Authors should be sure they have the right to sell reprints, and include the printing history in the document. Entries suitable for the Benefit Books will be fiction, essays, or devotionals of any length, preferably less than 10,000 words. Authors published in a Benefit Book will receive a printed copy of the work, as well as the ability to purchase additional copies at cost.

    Critical Press Media’s Benefit Book Policy: all Benefit Projects are part of a year-long campaign to promote awareness and raise support for a selected charity (501c3 organization). Critical Press Media is not associated with or endorsed by the organizations that benefit from these projects. CPM raises money by selling printed copies of the Benefit Project and providing users with the ability to donate money through Critical Press Media. CPM raises awareness by distributing electronic copies of the Benefit Project for free, and providing links to sites where consumers may obtain information or donate directly to a given charity.
    Miracles

    Luke 7

    20 When the men had come to Him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’” 21 And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.
    22 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. 23 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

    A miracle is an event with an expressly divine supernatural origin. Stories suitable for this project will include something of the miraculous as a turnkey event in the story, where the characters or the action depends expressly on divine intervention.

    Forerunner

    Luke 3

    3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, 4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying:

    “ The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

    ‘ Prepare the way of the LORD;
    Make His paths straight.
    5 Every valley shall be filled
    And every mountain and hill brought low;
    The crooked places shall be made straight
    And the rough ways smooth;
    6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”

    The forerunner carries word of arrival in the name of and with the authority of a governing power. Stories suitable for this project will include a character who represents a greater power than himself – whether that power is natural, supernatural, or political – as a crucial element of plot execution.

    Format: Completed and fully edited manuscripts are desired for publication. If you have a strong story or idea that needs additional direction or help, we will work with you to bring your story to completion. Submit your story outline and manuscript within the body of an email or as an HTML, DOC, RTF, or ODT file attachment to winstonc@criticalpressmedia.com
