I got an iPhone 4s and can't jailbreak it yet... so I've got no internet for the xbox ATM...

Gotcha. Got a new windows phone 7 recently. Love it. Just not sure how to set it as a hotspot.

Well... I just did some hacking wizardry and got iTether for my phone and I got the internet back... fired up my xbox, played one game of Halo and promptly got the red ring of death

So... I'm either going to save up for a slim xbox or get a replacement xbox...

Still don't have my own Xbox. My wife may be contemplating one for me for my birthday in a few months I REALLY don't expect it for Christmas). We'll see.

And no I did not misspell ODST for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper from Halo. Its just my intials. "O'Donnell, Timothy S." Yes Both the O and D are part of the initials in "O'Donnell" LOL.

My wife got me an early birthday gift. We now possess an Xbox 360 of our own. Still don't have Star Wars: The Old Republic, but this should be more fun.

We just have one problem. We got a Kinect, and unfortunately, didn't realize that it's sensor area literally has us backed up against our couch, and there's no way to adjust the distance. Our living room is too small.

Gonna try to move the Xbox and Kinect into the spare room and see if it's playable in there.

Anyone know if there's a way to adjust the Kinect's sensor area forward, so that it'll read slightly closer to it?

If you step forward the kinect should automatically adjust itself (it rotates up and down) to see you better. However if you have a small room it's probably not good enough.

Another tip is to put the kinect above the TV instead of below. That helps a lot.

It kept telling me to step back so it could see me. Once I got it placed on the entertainment center where it would see me enough to say okay, it couldn't see the floor, and so I couldn't play the game (Kinect Sports).

I did see a top ot TV mount designed for the Kinect, so I may opt to purchase that until we move to a larger residence. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out and see what Danielle thinks.

I think I like the idea of that better than the shelf. I don't think we'd be able to add enough room with the TV mount even if we tried. I think I can cinvince her this is a worthy purchase.

The lens system seems to have bad reviews so I'd be careful/and or/ look around.

Yeah, that's the one I was looking at myself. I am just still uncertain how far back on the entertainment center we'll be able to get the camera. I'll actually measure it out tonight when I get home before we order it.

So I currently have Halo 3 and Halo: Reach (plan to finish 3 before starting Reach, gotta keep the story lines in order), which I borrowed from the Middle School Ministry at church.

My brother in law also loaned me: Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, CoD:Black Ops, CoD: World at War, CoD4: Modern Warfare, CoD: Modern Warfare 2, and BattleField 2.

Although I tend to play one game at a time start to finish, I am not unopposed to starting another one. I don't want to start Halo Reach until I finish the story in Halo 3. Which of the other games would the community suggest?

And I don't have the latest games because I'm just not one to drop a bunch of money without knowing more about the games I'm wanting to buy.

Also, I do have a Kinect. What are some good Kinect games that I can play alongside my wife?

Get "Fruit Ninja" for the kinect.

Also Reach is a prequel to halo 1 so you can play it and there will not be any spoilers. Don't bother with halo 3 multiplayer just do reach multiplayer.

Battlefield 2 multiplayer is basically empty now. Get BF:3

Haven't gotten into the multiplayer online yet with any of the games. I might get BF3 if it's on sale or I can find a used copy of it. I'm just kinda looking for something with a good story.

thanks for reminding me that Halo Reach takes place prior to Halo. Perhaps I'll load it up and check out it's story as well. Started Lost Planet. We'll see if it captivates me enough.

If you're looking for story, I would think Oblivion would be the route to go. I've not played it, but I've heard the story is great on it...better than Skyrim. But it's an RPG... kinda different than the others you've listed here. I'm not familiar with Lost Planet.

I was looking through the Oblivion manual last night. I think I'll start a game sometime this week and see if I like it.

Lost Planet is a futuristic game, fighting aliens with mechs and weapons. You have amnesia, and all you can remember is your name, an alien nicknamed Green Eye killed your father, and that you have skills to pilot a VS (Vital Suit - aka Mech).
