Geekklesia Channel

I am fascinated with the idea of new media, and was kicking around the idea of establishing a 'Geekklesia Channel' on YouTube.

What would such a channel look like?

What types of content would have to be featured?

and, most importantly,

Is there any interest here (aside from Ben Avery, we've already chatted) on collaboration?

Thanks for the reply! Right now its a 'high concept,' hence some of the questions about what it should look like. BTW, I have a few other questions to ask:

Who would/should be the target audience?

What should the mission/purpose of such a channel be?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Not sure I understand the question, but if you're asking what it would be basically, is, I'd reply that I envision it being a new media outlet on YouTube for Christian Geekery, much like what Paeter is doing with Spirit Blade, but more video related. Perhaps it might contain similar content to what Felicia Day is doing with her "Geek and Sundry" Channel.

If you're asking as a way of drilling down even further than that, I'd have to say I'm still working on the details, which is my downfall. I'm more of a 'big-picture' guy, and need some other voices to help file off the rough edges and get a better handle on exactly what content to feature. I do not want it to simply ape 'Geek and Sundry' with a few Bible verses thrown in to make it 'Christian.' It would need to provide worthwhile content.

Geekklesia channel

Evangelical in philosophy - promoting the Good News of Jesus.

It's mission would affirm the centrality of the Written Word of God, which points to the Living Word.

It will seek to honor creators. They will own their work, but allow Geekklesia Channel to be a repository, or one place to feature their work.

Content be approved by a 'program development committee' consisting of myself, Paeter and Ben Avery.

Ideas for programs: convention highlights, original fiction series, reviews, sermons that are geeky related.

So how's things? Any news on the Geekklesia channel?

I'm trying to remember if I ever heard from you on this via e-mail Cleireac, but if it's not too late I'm still very interested in the idea and how it could potentially be highlighted by and associated with Christian Geek Central!
