A few weeks ago I taped two signs up in my office that both say the same thing. One is right above my monitor so I see it and reflect on it pretty often, which has been good for me.
The printed sign reads:
Things "Go Different" more often than they "Go Wrong".
(Proverbs 19:21) Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of Yahweh that will stand.
(Romans 8:28) And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
When my worked day doesn't go like I'd hoped it can be very frustrating and feel unfruitful. So I attempt to remind myself that my agenda, although it may be a good one, is often not God's agenda, which is by far the best. I might think I'm here to do A,B&C, but GOD has prepared the work he wants me to do (Ephesians 2:10), so I really ought to remain open to the moment-by-moment opportunities he unexpectedly presents to serve him and others. It makes a big difference in my day to try and be on the same page with God instead of trying to get him and my circumstances on the same page with me.
Anyone else have a verse they have previously or are currently aiming to live by?
