I think this is a question we can all answer, whether we're deeply involved in serving/relationships at our local church or if we're not even attending a local church these days.
What would you say keeps you from having deeper, more transparent friendships with others at a local church? What keeps you from serving more at your local church?
I'm not planning to reply and fix problems here. It's largely about data collection and understanding us better as a community. Whether its a weakness you perceive in yourself or a problem you see in the culture or leadership of your local church, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
Speaking for myself, I don't have deeper relationships than I do at my church both because I am extremely slow to trust people for fear of their criticism of me, and also because of time that I'm not willing to shave off my play time.
