My friend got the death penalty

I don't know if you guys remember but back in 2010 a friend from High School was arrested for murder. Well today I learned that he was found guilty and got the death penalty.

Have you kept up with him over the years? Do you still have an opportunity to talk with him?

I can't imagine how hard this situation is.
How specifically can we pray for you?

I've written to him a couple times in prison and he told me that he's became a Christian since his arrest. It was shocking when I first heard about it he was one of the nicest, most likable guys. If you can pray that if his faith is genuine then that it will grow and that God can use him. Also pray for his family that they can find some form of peace and comfort despite this news and if they aren't Christian God can use this situation to bring them to Him.

I also think your prayer is a good prayer to pray. I will certainly be praying that his faith in Jesus Christ is genuine, and that somehow God will bring good from this terrible evil.
I don't know how any good could ever come from something like this... but I trust that God is able.
