NaNoWriMo Live Stream

Something a bit different. I'm thinking that I might live-stream my NaNoWriMo efforts from time to time during November.

I can't guarantee that it will be interesting, but who knows. Feel free to drop in and see how I'm going.

I will broadcast my first session in the morning, which will be approx 3:30 PM American EST on Monday afternoon 31st October (which for me is early morning 1st November). I'll do a little intro and then start writing.

Sounds like a really interesting idea! Do you think/process/brainstorm out loud? What do you suppose you'll do while streaming?

You crazy fool! I might drop in to cheer you on a bit after I've got the kids to bed, as November won't be starting for a few hours for me (although I don't think I'll be writing until Tuesday evening) so I might be having one final night in front of the Tivo before the madness kicks in...

That's an interesting question.
Usually no. I'm an outliner so by the time I come to write the first draft of a story, I have it all pretty much mapped out. I find it extremely difficult to just pull it out of the air on demand.
That said, the more I talk, the more interesting it will be. (who wants to watch somebody type). I think I did okay at the beginning of my first video, but as it went on, I didn't do much talking. Perhaps I need to talk through the scenes as I'm writing them. I already have the outline so I have something ready made to talk about.

All of that said, I'm writing two novellas during November. The first is well outlined. The second isn't. I ran out of time. So there will be need for brainstorming.
Since I met my daily word count goal before work on my first day, I may have time in the evenings to work on brainstorming and outlining the second novella. This might make for more interesting viewing, and perhaps even interaction.

I shall experiment with this format a bit.

Looks like youTube is tweeting automatically for me, but it;s doing it when the archived stream goes online for later viewing, rather than when the stream starts. Might need to do a manual tweet at the beginning.

I didn't watch the whole video (work was staring at me like those red squiggly lines were at you), but oddly enough I found it pleasant and strangely soothing to watch your words appear to the beating clicks and thumps of your keystrokes. Neat to see someone's story come into form.
