I just learned about something called Movie Pass where you can see one 2d movie everyday for $10 a month and I was curious if anyone here has used it. If so what do you think of it?

What theater does this? Can you see new movies?

Re: Anyone use Movie Pass?
This has piqued my interest. Movie tickets around here are at least $13 unless I go on Tuesday night (which is nearly impossible). The question is: Will I use it twice a month?
This would've been useful during the summer.

Re: Anyone use Movie Pass?
I'll definitely need to give this some thought and look at my yearly average theatrical reviews! Unfortunately it doesn't work at the chain I really prefer, but that's not necessarily a deal breaker.
Thanks for suggesting this!

Re: Anyone use Movie Pass?
I took the plunge earlier in the year and got MoviePass. Boy, I'm seeing a lot more movies in the theater now!
Around me, most theaters run about $13. Even if I use it once I'm saving money. I've used it multiple times each month and it's never failed.
Some people have reported problems but it's been OK for me.
I took advantage of their sale for Black Friday and got an entire year for $90. It's worked every time and at different theater chains.
A bonus is that if you've got a rewards card, you still can collect rewards.
I read that a family plan is in the works too. More details in an upcoming video on my YouTube channel (link in sig).

Re: Anyone use Movie Pass?
So cool!
I really considered this and still wish it was the right fit for me. But the only chain in my area that accepts it now has assigned theater seating. Just can't do that. I've had too many experiences of ending up next to some talkers and wanting to change seats before or during the movie. If I couldn't do that I'd be so distracted.
Really great value though! I'd recommend everyone at least look into it if you see at least about one movie a month.

I've got a question about assigned seating in theaters. When I was living in the U.S., there was no such thing outside of fancy VIP theaters. All the theaters in China do assigned seating, so coming here was the first time I experienced it. In the U.S., is the seating really enforced? Will someone come in and check your ticket to make sure you're in the right seat? Or is the fear of not being able to move more based on the theater being full?
I tend to go to movies on days when others are busy, so theaters here are often pretty empty. When I saw Ant-Man by myself, I had an assigned seat, but a person in my row kept answering her phone, so I moved. No one stopped me, and there were lots of empty seats to choose from.

People usually will move after the previews begin. I've also seen people move during the film. Unless the theater is really full it's not usually a problem. I've never shown up and seen someone in my seat.

I don't think I'd risk it. I've always hated "getting in trouble", so fear of that would keep me in my seat.

Wow. Choosing between different chains.
My city has one and only one cinema (four concurrent theatres inside). It's Village. If you don't like Village you do a day-trip to Devonport, where they have CMAX.

We have two major chains here: Regal and BowTie. In addition, there are about 5 independent drive-in theaters within an hour of my house.
