The Dark Crystal - Age of Resistance

Well, I'm liking what I'm seeing. It really captures the sense of wonder of the setting from the original, but in beautiful high definition.
I suspect Jim Henson would have been proud.

Is this a sequel to the old Dark Crystal movie? I've never seen the movie, but this trailer looks pretty cool! It looks like the puppet work does a good job at balancing an old school look with newer puppet technology.

It's actually a prequel, but done as a series.

Yes. I agree, it's a great balance between the look and feel of the original, while still somehow feeling modern.

Part of what makes it feel modern to me is the score and the level of action. I think the movie can feel a bit slow at times, so hopefully they recognize that and are increasing the pace a bit for more of a fantasy adventure vibe. But this is just a trailer, so who knows. Looking forward to checking it out, though!
