You wouldn't be the first to come to that conclusion. Some believe that some/all of the pagan gods of the ancient world were fallen angels or nephilim.
I haven't done any serious reading on the topic, so for me it sits in the "possible but not plausible" category for now. The "what if" realm of science fiction.
