"Then I figured out, it isn’t the lack, or presence, of any particular content that makes the DC movies feel so realistic. Man of Steel was the most science fiction take I’ve seen on Superman, but I don’t think you could call it hard science fiction. The thing that gives these stories their realistic feeling, is emotional honesty."
Dude, you nailed it. As "unrealistic" as these movies are in concept, I'm betting it's this element that makes them feel "real" to so many. And possibly the reason many others have issues with the actual stories. If, for whatever reason, you don't connect with the "emotional honesty" of these movies, you're gonna have tons of problems with the stories. But for me, the more I connect with the emotional issues,(which happens quickly and easily in MoS and Bvs. Not as much in SS but still there.) the more the stories make complete and immediate sense to me.
