Upcoming DC animated movies

Just saw a news article that DC is planning on making the Flashpoint storyline into an animated movie. Not having read those comics this seems odd to me because at the end of the movie are they going to have the world reset(ala new 52)? that seems like it would be a weird, unfulfilling ending.Then again I haven't read it so I don't know.

That is not the next DC animated movie though. Superman: Unbound comes out on May 7th.


I'm not to crazy about the look of the animation in this one, but it looks like it will be pretty cool. Superman stole a Will Smith line at the end of the trailer there.

The voice of Brainiac sounds like the guy who played The Architect in the Matrix Trilogy...

I did read Flashpoint - and most of the tie-in series. (LOVED that Batman by the way).

I think DC/WB could go either way based on this comics series, either following through with the New 52 (animated) universe from then on, or returning to the current universe as is; imo the Flashpoint storyline leaves room for both possibilities.

However, from the article you linked to, it seems they're leaning towards a New 52(-ish) direction: "it's a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe"....

The Flashpoint storyline easily works as a stand alone story.

Considering the DC animated movies lately haven't exactly fit into the Timm-verse or worked as a cohesive storyline, I've just been anticipating that the Flashpoint movie will be its own thing.

I've enjoyed the Batman movies lately, and while they work as their own little series, I don't think they intended that. (Year One to begin, Dark Knight Returns as an ending, with Under the Red Hood and Gotham Knight possibly fitting in the middle.)
