What's On Your Christmas List? Empty What's On Your Christmas List?

    Post  Paeter December 15th 2016, 9:56 am

Time to bring out your inner kid!

What hints have you dropped to family? Or in my case, what's on your actual "Christmas List"?

We may not have the excitement for presents we used to, but there's still a little kid in most of us that would light up if a certain something were under the tree.

So what is that for you, this year?

I make a point of not looking at my Christmas list after I've turned it in. I try to forget what I put on it so I can be more surprised when I unwrap things. But I remember putting the Suicide Squad and X-Men Apocalypse Blu Rays on there, as well as a Steam Controller, which may be the thing I'm most interested in. I have no shortage of games to play. The ridiculous opposite, in fact. But after playing around with a Steam Controller at my in-laws this Thanksgiving I began to suspect that having one could solve my problem with loving certain mouse/keyboard PC games (that are point and click heavy) but not being able to enjoy them since I hate doing mouse and keyboard after a whole workday of doing mouse and keyboard. So a steam controller would be a fun thing to dink around and experiment with during my time off.

    How about you?

    Socks, always socks.
A brand new pair of socks is like getting your feet hugged, but without all the uncomfortable "touching people" bit.
(no joke, I love them. If I was filthy rich, I'd only ever wear a pair of socks once)

Yesterday a Pepsi delivery truck was parked next to my house, and my wife joked that my present had arrived.
    She lied. Sad
I think I still have a particular style of jeans that I put on my Amazon wishlist a few years ago... I get a pair every now and then for Christmas or birthday.
A good winter coat. I have a duster/trench coat thing that is great for using a snowblower, but gets tricky if I need to sit down, or stand up, or go through a door, or not embarrass my kids...
A gaming computer.... hmmmm, put that on a couple years ago, I should update it on the off chance that a long-lost rich uncle decides to get it for me... scratch
Some random junk I put on there years ago and haven't bothered removing even though I really don't care to get them anymore.

Mostly, I just want cash, or gift cards if they want to personalize it a bit...

Our family are going fairly light on presents this year, in favour of saving for an inter-state holiday.
My wife is getting me one thing I asked for (Suicide Squad Extended Cut Blu-Ray) and one thing that is secret.
I'm getting her a round beach towel, and then something secret (yet to be determined).

Since I live overseas from most of my family, the easiest thing to get me is an Amazon gift certificate, and I'm never disappointed to get one.

I have a lot of DVDs and Kindle books on my list. All the Star Wars movies, any Marvel movie I don't already have, and the animated Batman: Under the Red Hood (my favorite Batman movie, bar none) are the geekiest DVDs. For books, I'd like to start collecting Gene Luen Yang's stuff, like his recent work on Superman as well as his China-focused superhero story The Shadow Hero. Oh, and Comic Book History of Comics, which I've been wanting to read for a while.

There are also some Christian books and history books on the list.

I used to have a lot of music on my list, but Amazon hasn't allowed digital downloads to be given as gifts for a while, so I took it all off. Sad

Ooh! Great movie! Might be time for me to watch that one again!

Got a box in the mail yesterday, it was a present from my mom. My wife opened it and said I was going to be happy.
I'm guessing socks, but it didn't sound like a socks-happy she meant.
    Suspect

Maybe it's long underwear. Like a big "body sock"!

I sure hope not, my body is built funny.
I have short legs, a long torso, and long arms, so no one size body item would fit me.
