So much potential here. I hope Marvel digs into the characters AND gives us some spectacle!

Re: Black Panther Trailer
Yeah, I'm interested! Looks like it might be closer to the kind of tone I enjoy.

Re: Black Panther Trailer
LOL
But am I only one who has to really look closely to even notice that those two "white guys" have a slightly different skin tone to the others. There are so many varied skin tones in this world, it kinda seems very artificial to me that we've created this distinction between "white" and "everything else".
Anyway, loving the idea of an African superhero story.

Yeah, I think a lot of that comes down to identity, and people finding their identity in their biology or cultural origins. (I see value in culture and history, but don't think we should find OUR value in it.) I suspect that as long as they are doing that instead of finding their identity in Christ, people will still cling to these ethnic categorizations, both as segregating insults and badges of honor.
It's getting harder to "label" people based solely on pigmentation, which sounds like a better world to me. But there are other physical features that can indicate ethnic descent, so people are still called "black" even when you could find a Mexican person with darker pigmentation than a particular African-American.
Unusual times we live in.
