Listener Created Episode

DNArington suggested the rockin' idea of having a special episode of the podcast that is COMPLETELY listener created. A handful (or more) of you each create one of the segments and send it in to me, then I stitch the whole thing together using the usual intro, outro and segue bumpers.

So I figure I'll just create the outline here and whoever feels like volunteering can "call dibs" on a segment of content. (I'll still retain final approval for all content.) And I'm also happy to invite anyone participating in this to plug their blog/show/site as a part of their content!

So here's what's up for grabs:

1.Intro:
Welcome, including a brief explanation about the special nature of the episode, and a quick highlight of what the show will be about and any SBP news you care to highlight. (This segment would be recorded after the rest of the show has been "turned in" so the intro person will know what will be on the show.)

2. Review/Topic #1 (This could be a review or anything geeky you want to talk about.)

3. Review/Topic #2 (Same as above.)

4. In Search Of Truth (Can be a look at a passage of scripture, an examination of a topic from a biblical perspective, or a personal story of how God has moved or spoken to you as you've pursued truth in your life.)

5. Closing segment that perhaps highlights a currently interesting topic on the forums, encourages listeners to come back next week and of course ends using some form of "seeking the truth" as the final words of the show!



If someone else beats you to the punch, feel free to volunteer anyway! Sometimes plans fall through. I may also have time for more than one contributor of each segment! And if not, I'd love to put your content in another episode!

I'll do the In Search of Truth part, assuming no objections of course.

Before I record it though, I'll send you a rough script of what I'm gonna say just to make sure there's nothing you object to theologically, since it still is your show and what not.

I could do another game review or maybe just talk about The Old Republic or something. I'll start working on something.

OooOoo... Metropolis is a film I've wanted to see for some time but just never got a chance. Can't wait for your review!

June 17th is coming up. Everybody needs to create/send in your part soon if you haven't already.

I got the final piece of content for the show! So here's the outline of the episode. (Drew, you can use this to mention what's coming up in the show during your intro if you'd like.)

Please be sure to either post the name you'd like to be credited with here or instant message Drew (if you want to keep your full name off the public forums) so that he can mention your name with your segment in the intro if he chooses to. If you want to be credited with a screen name, be sure to make that clear, too.

Also, feel free to make a quick plug of something you're up to or that you want to support when you record your segments.

I'd appreciate it if you sent your files to me via a file transfer service such as yousendit or sendspace. (A quick google search will get you right to them. Both have free options that should work fine for this.)
