Frequency (A Non-"CW" Show On The CW?)

Anyone else watching this show? There are still brief instances of shallow dating stuff, but not even every episode! In fact most of the relationship drama is between a struggling husband and wife and a father and daughter! And of course the time-travel stuff is pretty cool, too.

I don't think I've ever seen a show on the CW that felt like this. I'm wondering if they are trying to finally appeal to viewers who have "aged out" a bit from their other programming? The main character is (gasp!) in her LATE twenties! (So OLD!!!)

Anyway, it's successfully given me some emotional moments, the crime stuff is dark and the acting is solid. I'm on board for now!

No, I haven't seen it...but wondering, now, if I should check it out.

I watched till I ran out of episodes on Netflix. There's probably another couple available now. I kind of stuck into The Expanse while I was waiting.
Anyway, really enjoying what I'm seeing so far.

I haven't seen it but it's based off the movie right? Did you ever watch Nikita? That also didnt have the CW feel to it.

Yeah, based on the movie with a few key changes. Father and daughter instead of father an son (but still a powerful dynamic), both are cops instead of dad being a firefighter, and the decades are present day and the 90's.

Definitely works best when thought of as fantasy rather than sci-fi, as the time travel logic is lacking, even though the basic "rules" are defined well enough. But once you accept that, the science doesn't matter and the fantasy works well, for me at least.
