xbox 360 or ps3?

I own both consoles.
When buying a third party game that's available for both consoles which one should I buy it for?

Obviously, you should buy the one for the Wii.....

I do own the wii also, but I wouldn't even consider getting a wii version I only have the wii for Nintendo exclusives really...

I'll start off with the equally useless "You should buy for PC" which is my platform of choice.

But since you didn't include that as an option, I'd say it would depend on your circle of friends. My friends seem to mostly be playing Xbox, so if it were me, I'd do Xbox so I could play with them online or at a LAN party, be able to share games, etc.

Personally, I don't find any difference between the PS3 and X-Box360 platforms. At least, no differences that matter to me.

Do you have a preferred controller/interface?
Do you play online? If so, which platform has better support?
What are your friends playing? And do you share games?

Carefully consider the previous questions, and then enter a 12-step program to help your reduce your dependency on video games. Use the roster of other 12-step program attendees to expand your circle of gaming buddies......

If you're really into graphics, I've heard that some games look better on PS3 than xbox, but there are also exceptions where I've heard the reverse. I think the advice already given here is really good.
